File Crunch - Encrypted File Share

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using File Crunch ("the Service"), you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

File Crunch is a free file-sharing platform that allows users to upload and share files. Files are encrypted using AES-256 encryption before being stored on our servers and are automatically deleted after 3 days. Users must provide a phone number to receive a verification code via SMS before uploading files. This verification code is to help prevent abuse of the File Crunch platform and to retrieve download links.

3. SMS Verification Consent

By using File Crunch, you explicitly consent to:

Receive text messages (SMS) containing verification codes to the phone number you provide.
Standard message and data rates may apply as determined by your mobile carrier.
We may send text messages for verification purposes only.
You can opt out of receiving text messages by discontinuing use of the Service, as SMS verification is required for file uploads and viewing your download links.

4. User Responsibilities

By using File Crunch, you agree to:

Only upload files you have the legal right to share. You may not use the Service to distribute illegal, copyrighted, or malicious content.
Ensure the accuracy of the phone number provided for verification. We are not responsible for issues caused by incorrect phone numbers.
Understand that files will be automatically deleted after 3 days, and that File Crunch does not offer file recovery services.

5. Privacy & Security

All uploaded files are encrypted using AES-256 encryption, making them inaccessible to anyone without the download link.
We do not store files longer than 3 days.
Your phone number is used only for verification purposes and is not shared or sold.

6. Prohibited Activities

You may not use File Crunch for:

Uploading, sharing, or storing illegal, harmful, or abusive content.
Distributing malware, viruses, or other harmful programs.
Using the platform for fraud, harassment, or any unlawful activity.

File Crunch reserves the right to deny access to users who violate these terms.

7. No Warranties & Limitation of Liability

File Crunch is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

That the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or 100% secure.
That your uploaded files will be available for the full 3-day period in case of technical failures or server issues.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, File Crunch is not liable for any:

Loss of data due to file deletion, corruption, or system errors.
Unauthorized access to uploaded files.
Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the Service.

8. Indemnification

You agree to hold harmless and indemnify File Crunch, its owners, operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to:

Legal actions resulting from uploaded files.
Any claims of copyright infringement, illegal activity, or damages related to shared content.

9. Changes to Terms

File Crunch reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and interpreted under the laws of California. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of California.
